Mom turned 60 this past Sunday and Kristen and I decided to put together a little surprise party for her with a few friends and family. We had to lie to her to get her to leave the house, so the guests could arrive. Wouldn't you know it, her and Dad got to Dollar General and she just buzzed right through the store and had everything on the list within a matter of minutes. Normally she will take her time shopping...even if its the gas station. After Dad called from the restroom at Dollar General...he was stalling (no pun intended), we told him just to head back to the house, but drive slow :)
Anyways, everyone was waiting outside when they got back to the house. She says she didn't know anything, but who knows...
We had a great time celebrating and enjoyed some yummy cookie cake
Mom's friend (and co-worker) Beth, go to lunch together fairly often and Beth says it never fails, Mom gets in Beth's car and doesn't have her sunglasses, so Beth loans her a pair. Beth decided, she would provide Mom with several pairs of sunglasses, so she would have no excuse not to have any on their next lunch outing.
Fulton did a little entertaining too...
Since we are still without a pier, we had to resort to other means of entertainment. I've seen this ladderball game in Tuscaloosa at tailgates, but never played it. We had a fun time playing, and the guys wouldn't admit it, but the girls beat them!
Fulton did a little raking while we played
Fun weekend celebrating Mom's birthday and Memorial Day!
