Riding around and friends

Fulton loves riding around on the tractor at his house.  He is one cool dude in his John Deere with sunglasses on!  I have tried to hitch a few rides, which he quickly tells me, "you too big"

Christie, Brigg, and the girls came through town Saturday night and we met them for a pit stop at the local Mexican restaurant.  Steven and I loved getting to see them even if it was a quick visit!  Had to pose for a quick pic before they hit the road

When the John Deere is out of gas (or the battery is dead), then Fulton just switches over to the Mini Cooper to ride around in.  I think he is ready to ride in a parade with that wave he had down :)

40 years of wedded bliss

Mom & Dad celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on the 20th and we had a little gathering at the lake on Saturday to celebrate.

they look exactly the same as they did 40 years ago, right?

someone was excited about the party!

and had to be included in on the pictures

all of their friends and family that came to party

Here's to many more years!

Speaking of anniversaries...Toots and Fred celebrated their anniversary last week too!  They came to Birmingham and we had dinner, then went to a Baron's game.  The weather was so nice and perfect for an outdoor event!  Fun times!

Camp KK & Pop

While Kristen and Matt were in the Bahamas, Fulton stayed at Camp KK & Pop, which meant Kiki & Pete went over to hang out too!

First night was dinner at the mall and riding the carousel.

Next night was swimming and practicing jumping into the pool

We decided to change up the scenery and head to the lake for the weekend.  We took a long boat ride Saturday morning over to visit some friends, then came back and hung out on the pier.
We had so much fun! Looking forward to the next time :)

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July at the lake.  It was unseasonably cool for the July.  That didn't keep everyone from staying out of the water, but when you did get out, it was mighty chilly.

I've been wanting to try this cake for a few years now and decided this was the year to do it.  It wasn't nearly as difficult as a I had imagined, but did take quite a bit of thinking through to make sure all the layers lined up correctly.

Fulton is ready!

Our friends brought their new wave runners up and we all enjoyed riding on them...especially Fulton!

Fulton and his best buddy, Pop

See what I mean, when I said it was chilly?  It's been a while since I've ridden on the boat and had to wrap up in a beach towel.

Beautiful sunsets on Smith Lake

Fulton was not a huge fans of the fireworks and preferred to watch them from a distance

Great weekend with friends and family
