Happy Birthday Brook

Today Brook hits the double digits...that's right she is 10 years old!

I cannot believe she is 10 and in 5th grade!

She had a small celebration with family (and me and Steven) this weekend.

Mom's office made this life size cut out of her for some charity promotion that were doing at work. She participated in Habitat for Humanity...hence the paintbrush and hammer in her hand. Anyways, she brought this thing home last week and sat it up in the foyer...without really mentioning it to anyone. Dad walked towards the front door and it scared him to death...he said that he almost peed in his pants. Mom of course has gotten a kick out of this thing...

I just felt like it was necessary to take a few pics of her the other night while I was at my parent's house. Mom finally told us that we had to stop making fun of her.

Beach Trip with the Abercrombie's

Steven and I met up with the Abercrombie's in Gulf Shores for the weekend. We had a great time playing on the beach, eating, and just hanging out and catching up with each other.

The weather was a little overcast on Saturday, but we still enjoyed playing on the beach

Dinner at The Hangout on Saturday night...

This place is great for kids, because it has a huge sand area for kids to play. We actually did not have to wait for a table and it was sprinkling after dinner, so Raylin did not get a chance to play in the sand.

Getting ready to leave on Sunday morning...had to get one last picture of me and sweet Raylin.

The Bouchillon's were in town this past weekend for their annual summer trip to Alabama. We actually managed to enjoy all of Saturday out on the lake without any rain...I think that is a first for the entire summer.

It just cracks me up to look at this picture of Kristen...

She gets very over protective when Dad is pulling Matt on the Airhead Race behind the boat. She kept getting onto Dad and telling him that he was going too fast and going to hurt Matt.

I went over to Margaret's last night to hang out with her and Michael. We had planned to get out and walk and the next thing you know, there we are at Yankee Pizza...oh well we had good intentions anyways. Jared was able to get off work early, so he and Steven joined us for dinner.

Mrs Howard's Classroom

Kristen recruited a few of us suckers on Sunday afternoon to do some finishing touches on her classroom. Mom and Dad had the lovely task of assembling the bookcase that was reluctant to go together and Kristen and I worked on bulletin boards and other stuff.

Who knew that you slap posters right up on the wall with some hot glue?!?

Those posters are sure to stay put all year long, plus some.

I think Mrs Howard is all ready for her students! I wonder if she's as nice of a teacher as she tells us she is...???
