Quick Visit

Mere and her girls made a quick trip to Birmingham a few days ago. We had a great time having lunch and seeing each other. I think Steven and Lainie had more fun throwing paper towel balls at each other!

Thunder on the Mountain

We went to watch Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show last night downtown. Since we are usually at the lake on the 4th, I hadn't seen this show in many years. You can tune into a local radio station and they play patriotic music along with the fireworks.

I told Julie and Amy that I didn't know we all were supposed to wear matching shirts...but I will be ready for next year !

4th of July

We celebrated Independence Day this past weekend at the lake with friends and family.

No mishaps or falls this year (like last year), so that was a plus.

Friday afternon we headed out on Greg & Ann's boat so we all could wakeboard (or at least try to...I wasn't so successful). Greg & Ann tried out their new surfboard and did great...especially Ann!

After a day out on the water, we shot fireworks on 4th of July Eve. Kristen and her pyro-maniac self enjoyed smoking up the deck with the sparklers.

Saturday, we spent the part of the day out on the lake again. Mema, Rita, (Mom's cousin) and her family, and Kristen and Matt's friends, Danny and Casey all joined us to celebrate the 4th of July.
