Crawfish Boil

Last Saturday my office had a crawfish boil. We had a great turn out and the weather was perfect. A special thanks to the Gilder's for bringing the crawfish over from Louisiana. They have been so sweet to do this for us for the past three years. I am sure it is a great chance for them to see their wonderful grandson too :)

Thanks also to Jared for helping boil the crawfish.

Lake house Update

Sunday after church Steven and I along with my parents headed up to the lake to check on progress of the lake house. It doesn't look like the house will be ready at the beginning of May, like they had originally told them, but my parents are just hoping it will be ready for us to enjoy by Memorial Day. I am really looking forward to a lot of fun weekends at the lake this summer!

A Day Game

This past Saturday was A Day in Tuscaloosa. I hadn't been to the A Day game in several years, so it was nice to go to a game and enjoy the festivities without the normal crowd that is there during the fall. It was also nice to walk into the stadium and sit wherever you wanted to. Although there weren't quite 92,000 fans there like last year, there was still a great turnout. RTR!!

Visiting with Lexie & Luke

On Friday, I went to visit my friend, Cheryl and her twins Lexie and Luke. I hadn't seen the twins in several months, so my visit was long overdue. They are all over the place, and have definitely grown a lot since the last time I saw them. It's hard to believe they weighed only a couple pounds each when they were born.
Here are a few pictures that I took of them. It was practically impossible getting a picture of them both looking at the camera at the same time.

Step Forward to Cure TSC

Saturday was the TS walk that I've been raising money for over the past month or so. Even though it was a little rainy on Saturday morning, we had a great turn out for the walk. I was the captain for Team Colonial Properties and we raised close to $3,000! I was so proud of my team. This was the first year for the walk and all together everyone raised over $65,000!

Later that afternoon, we enjoyed some yummy crawfish and jambalaya. I'm telling you, those cajuns know how to cook. They boiled over 200 lbs of crawfish and every bit of it was eaten.

everyone starting to dig in

That's right my friends...15 lbs of jambalaya!

Steven peeling some crawfish. He was kind enough to peel some for me and let me eat them. I peeled some myself from the first batch, but after I stabbed my finger with one of the shells, I was done peeling those suckers. They were so good!

What a long day...

The birthday celebrations continue...

This past weekend, one of my very dear friends, Doretta (who is also like a mother to me) cooked dinner for my birthday. She coooked my favorite...chicken parmesan...and it was so good! She and her family have always made my birthday so special, and this year was no exception. Thanks for a wonderful dinner, Doretta!

Doretta's neice, Katie...love this girl!

Last weekend, we had dinner at Cocina Superior with some friends for some great Mexican food. Afterwards, a few of us headed downtown to the Blue Monkey to hear Steve play a few songs on the piano. Everytime I hear him sing/play That's Why They Call it the Blues, I always think about my friend Christie :) Miss you Christie!

the whole group, minus Amy, who is taking the picture

We were able to get Amy in a picture later with me and her sister Julie.

Julie, Margaret and sweet Michael. This was Michael's third party for the day, so he was pooped.

Happy Birthday Austin!

Today is Austin's 7th birthday! I cannot believe he is already 7! I remember visiting him in the hospital the day after he was born while I was still in college. Sunday, Steven and I went to the Beasley's for lunch to celebrate his birthday.
