A little Fall decorating...

I ran over to my parent's house last weekend while they were getting ready for their SS fall social/party. Mom had the house all decorated with pumpkins, etc everywhere. This lady doesn't mess around when it comes to decorating...especially when there is a theme involved.

this little ghost in the picture below has some age...I remember Mom having this out when I was a young child...sure enough I picked it up and the bottom had "1981" etched into it.

Oh and did I mention that she made the ghost?

Now we have moved outside to the deck...isn't this pumpkin so cute??

Pumpkin Carving

Let me start off by saying, I love carving pumpkins! Last year I just ran out of time and didn't get a chance to carve one, and I wasn't about to let that happen again this yar. So, Steven and I did a little pumpkin carving with Brook and Austin last night (well I should say with Tim and Austin...Brook just instructed her daddy to what she wanted).

Steven helped Austin get his pumpkin all cleaned out and then Austin did some carving. Brook just stopped by every now and then to check the progress of hers.

Brook with her finished pumpkin. She decided that she wanted both sides of her pumpkin carved...this side has the letters ACC (cheerleading stuff).

Austin's was very proud of his skull and crossbones.

I carved the spider...which you can see in the collage above.

the pumpkin on the right is the other side of Brook's pumpkin. This is a picture of a crown...for the princess, of course!

Both of the designs that Brook choose had to be done free handed, since most pumpkin carving kits, don't come with a crown pattern.

Missy could not find the candles, so just imagine the pumpkins being lit : )

Bama Tennessee Game

WOW, what a nailbiter of a game! I'm glad no one took my blood pressure during the last few seconds of the game, or it might not have been a good report. I'm not sure when the last time I've been so nervous, anxious, and excited all within a four second time span.

Definitely glad to have the win, but that was a little too close of a game!

It was such a beautiful day for tailgating!

These pictures were after the game was over...as you can see the majority of the people were still in the stadium...so it took us a while to back to the tailgate.

Glad Bama has the weekend off next Saturday after yesterday's game...I need some time to recoup.

Pumpkin Patch

Even though I don't have any kiddos of my own, I decided I needed to go to the pumpkin patch this year anyways :)

I tagged along with Margaret and Michael on Sunday afternoon to the Grand ole Pumpkin Patch (along with the rest of Jefferson, Shelby and Chilton County) in search of some cute pumpkins.

Good thing I came along, because while Margaret stood in line to buy tickets for the hay ride, I went to stand in line to get on the hay ride.

Michael was in search of the perfect pumpkin and he finally found one just his size.

In case you didn't notice, Michael wasn't too interested in looking at the camera.

Bama Homecoming

Yesterday was the Homecoming game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

If you live around here, you know how crazy this weather is. We go from 80 degree weather, to non-stop raining, to temperatures in the 40's. Needless to say, it was a little chilly yesterday during the day (as if you couldn't tell by the way Mom is all bundled up at the tailgate) and of course last night for the 6:45 game.

It was a long but fun day of tailgating and hanging out with some of our friends that stopped by to see us.

Hoover Vestavia Game

Friday night was the big Hoover Vestavia game at Region's Park. Vestavia is one of Hoover's rivals, so this game is always a big deal every year. This game was also part of the Great American Rivalry Series sponsored by the Marine Corps.

Unfortunately, Hoover did not come away with the win, but they did make a good come back from being down by several touchdowns.

It was also Alumni Night...Kristen of course had to make a big deal that I graduated from Hoover many years ago! (It does seem like that has been so long ago).

I love my sister!!

Let me just tell you how much I love my sister Kristen. She is the best sister in the whole world. My life was not complete until she came into this world. Here is a shout out to the best sister ever!! Love you Kris!!

UPDATE: just for the record, this was posted by sister herself. I just left Kristen's house and I turned my head for one second...and she was doing a post on my blog. I knew she was up to something! At least she choose a picture of herself to post and not some horrible picture of me!

Brook's Art Work

I'm a little late on posting these pictures, but I thought they were just too cute not to share!

On the way home from the Alabama game last Saturday, we stopped by Missy's. Steven and I were inside watching some football and chatting and Brook came up to me and said, I painted on Steven's car. I said, oh really? I am sure it is cute!

Well she wasn't kidding...she did paint on his car!

Since it was dark when we left, we couldn't see the messages very well. The pictures below were taken several days later. I am sure that Steven got quite the looks as he was driving around town those few days.

After trying several different things, bug and tar remover (by gunk), seemed to do the trick...just in case anyone ever paints on your windows with paint pens!
