Congrats & Mom's Day

I am WAY behind on my blog posts and I have been TERRIBLE at taking pictures lately (Steven would probably not complain). I don't know what my problem is, but I am going to try to do better, because I know you all have had a little something missing in your lives lately.

First off, congrats to the sis and bro-in-law on completing their third degree! I must say they are much more dedicated than I could ever be. Congrats to both of you!!

Yummy cake...even if Congrats is a little slanted. Guess the cake decorator was a little sleepy when she was decorating the cake.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to a wonderful mom and a soon to be mother-in-law (sorry no pictures to document getting together with Steven's mom...I promise I will get better).

Celebrating Baby Cox #2

Some of Margaret's friends, including myself, surprised Margaret with a dinner last night to celebrate the soon arrival of Baby Cox #2 (5 weeks or less until he/she will be here). She thought she was coming for a birthday dinner for one of the other girls. Then we told her, Surprise...this party is for you! She was shocked!
pretty much everyone thinks she is having a girl...so the majority of the stuff she got last night was pink!! If this baby is a boy, everyone will think he is a girl with all of the pink stuff he'll be sporting (or she can just save it for the next baby)!

these were yummy!

Tuberous Sclerosis Walk 2010

First off, a big thank you to all of you who donated to make this walk happen. Without you, this would not be possible! I just heard today that the walk raised around $55k!

We had yet another successful walk last Saturday. The turnout was great and the weather was wonderful! On top of all of that, Michael is progressing so well. I heard him say more words this weekend than I've ever heard come from his little mouth.

After the 5K we headed back home to rest up for the afternoon crawfish boil.

As always, the crawfish boil was a blast!

We did the balloon release again this year and everyone included a prayer for Michael on their balloon.

Now we're just anxiously awaiting the arrival Baby Cox #2, that should he arriving in the next month or so. Will it be a boy or girl? I am dying to know!!

Thanks again for your continued support of TS.

Happy Easter

After church and our marriage prep class, we headed over to Mom & Dad's for a wonderful lunch. We all know how much Kristen is always up for a good competition...I hope she wasn't too upset because we didn't have our egg hunt today. We just ran out of time today, so we'll make up for it next year. We did have a great time hanging out with everyone.

Aren't these bunny ears so cute? I was able to snap Steven's picture while he was sporting the ears, but he instructed me to not put the picture on the blog. It was rather tempting, but I decided to honor his wishes :)
Hope everyone had a great Easter!

My Birthday Weekend

I had a great birthday weekend celebrating with friends and family!
Julie gave me this cute polka dot Alabama plate. Can't wait to take this to the tailgate in the fall. Steven sent me the cute little bouquet of flowers...love the vase/conatiner they came in.
Several of my co-workers took me to lunch at Newk's...one of my fav places.
Friday night, Steven took me to another one of my favorite places, Firebirds Restaurant. We had a nice dinner, just the two of us.

Saturday, Steven's parents came to celebrate with lunch at Cajun Steamer and little shopping afterwards.

Saturday night, I met up with some friends at the bowling alley for a bowling birthday party!

Braelyn got the party started by showing us some of her dancin'! Her mommy and daddy have taught her some nice moves.

Thanks to Steven, we had some yummy cookie cake about half way through our bowling game. Maybe this was what helped my bowling.
Take note at Margaret's cute baby bump...can't wait to meet Baby Cox #2!

Love this cute smile! What a sweet girl!

Check out my wonderful bowling! Please note that I am not in a bowling league and this never happens! I have no clue how I got four strikes in a row and then a spare to follow. We were out of time, so I wasn't able to bowl the last frame...not sure what my final score would have been. This would have to be my highest score in my bowling career!

Since my parents were out of town this weekend, we celebrated with the fam on Sunday night. Dinner and then back to Kristen and Matt for a few presents and dessert.

and just for the record, the P does not stand for Priss...thanks sis!
I've just got to figure out how to turn all of my R's into P's...shouldn't be too hard...right? I would be able to save so much stuff!!

Thanks to everyone who helped make my birthday so special! It was definitely a great one!

Weekend visit to Mississippi

I headed west on Friday afternoon...Mississippi bound...to visit my good friend Christie. I hadn't been to her house in a while, so it was time for a long over due visit.
We had no agenda...we just caught up with each other, ate, shopped, and hung out with some of Christie's fun friends. As you can see, we ate well, since all of the pictures I took were during meal time.

Raylin & Mary Bratton in their matching outfits...aren't they the cutest??

Two of Christie's wonderful friends, Mary Katherine & Renee who I enjoyed hanging out with...
Thanks for a fun weekend, Christie! Looking forward to our next visit!

It's almost that time again....

As many of you know, my dear friend Margaret's son, Michael was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) in 2007. TSC is a devastating genetic disorder that causes tumors to form in various organs, primarily the brain, eyes, heart, kidneys, liver, skin and lungs. People with TSC develop epilepsy, autism, and learning and behavioral problems. Currently there is no cure for TSC, but ongoing research will have pave the way for treatments and therapies.

These tumors were found in Michael's brain and kidneys. The tumors in his brain have caused him to have regular seizure activity which has caused developmental delays. Fortunately his kidneys have been functioning properlyand he is periodically monitored. As a result of a strict modified Atkins diet recommended by his doctors, Michael has been seizure free for one year! He is progressing well and beginning to reach many milestones!

I will be walking on April 10th in the Step Forward to Cure TSC walk-a-thon in honor of Michael. I would love for you to join TEAM MICHAEL and walk with me and the rest of the team. If you aren't able to attend, the walk, you can still make a donation by visiting my page below.

On behalf of Michael's family and myself, thank you so much for your paricipation and support. It means so much!!

A little Bama Basketball

I cannot believe it has been so long since I last blogged. Guess things have been a little busy around here lately. I hadn't even taken any pictures since the picture from the last post. So unlike me, I know. I will try to do better...

Yesterday Steven and I went to the Alabama/Auburn basketball game in Tuscaloosa. A friend from work offered me the tickets a while back. I thought, sure why not...we haven't been to a game yet this year. Little did I know at the time who I would see at the game...

Steven and I about to head out for Tuscaloosa

introducing the seniors

Now, for our half time entertainment...we got the see Nick and the boys. Pretty exciting. I guess this will be the closest I will ever be to Nick...

And he's gone...

Lots of Birthdays

Not only did Steven celebrate his birthday in January, but so did Michael and Braelyn.
Michael's party was on Saturday and Braelyn's party was last weekend.
Pump It Up and inflatable jump houses seem to be very popular with the kids (and the adults for that matter) right now.
I just might consider renting one of these for my birthday party this year. I just can't decide which one to get...have a few weeks to figure that out.
Happy Birthday to Michael & Braelyn!
