4th of July

We had a great 4th of July at the lake.  It was unseasonably cool for the July.  That didn't keep everyone from staying out of the water, but when you did get out, it was mighty chilly.

I've been wanting to try this cake for a few years now and decided this was the year to do it.  It wasn't nearly as difficult as a I had imagined, but did take quite a bit of thinking through to make sure all the layers lined up correctly.

Fulton is ready!

Our friends brought their new wave runners up and we all enjoyed riding on them...especially Fulton!

Fulton and his best buddy, Pop

See what I mean, when I said it was chilly?  It's been a while since I've ridden on the boat and had to wrap up in a beach towel.

Beautiful sunsets on Smith Lake

Fulton was not a huge fans of the fireworks and preferred to watch them from a distance

Great weekend with friends and family
